Jazz Cafe to Launch Its Inaugural Festival in Burgess Park
For the first time in its 35-year history, the iconic Jazz Cafe is hosting its own festival, set to take place in the expansive grounds of Burgess Park, Camberwell. Known for its rich legacy in London’s music scene, Jazz Cafe’s debut festival is a celebration of both its storied past and its commitment to championing fresh, innovative talent from around the world.
This marks a milestone moment for the venue, as it transitions from its intimate Camden space to the open-air setting of one of London’s most popular parks. The festival promises a vibrant musical experience, with four stages featuring a diverse array of genres, including hip hop, soul, jazz, Latin, R&B, and electronic music. Staying true to Jazz Cafe’s ethos, the event will blend the old with the new, spotlighting both renowned artists and rising stars.
The eclectic lineup includes celebrated names like ELIZA, Alchemist, Rapsody, Crazy P, and the Buena Vista All Stars. For many, this festival offers a rare opportunity to see these artists share a UK stage, alongside emerging performers who have graced the Jazz Cafe and later enjoyed significant success. Beyond the music, the festival is a tribute to the community and culture that Jazz Cafe has fostered for over three decades.
