Found Festival is a new venture this summer from the founders of the UK's oldest independent festival, taking place from Friday 22nd to Sunday 24th August at the idyllic Claydon Estate in Buckingham. Found Festival is a carefully curated affair that allows music, culture, and community to blend in with seamless ease. It's a promise of exclusive acts amidst intimate settings, all bundled up in the rich heritage of six decades of festival hosting.
After being forced to say goodbye to the well-oiled family tradition that was Towersey Festival, stretching over more than 60 years, Found Festival's team moves into a new chapter. Mary Hodson, Co-Director of Found Festival, shared the spirit of the new event: "Deeply passionate about curating unforgettable experiences, we have grown up with the art of bringing people together through music, culture, and community. Our rich heritage inspires everything about Found Festival; we believe that life's most meaningful moments happen when we step outside our daily routines and immerse ourselves in new experiences. Our festival is not just an event; it's an opportunity to experience creativity and connection and take it back to your daily life."
A Unique Approach to Festival Line-ups
Breaking away from the traditional headliner-focused approach, Found Festival is a place to discover captivating acts and genres like Americana, Folk, Country, Roots, Blues, and World music. More than just performances, the lineup will blend spoken word, comedy, circus, and the arts, offering a range of talent that emphasizes storytelling, connection, and creativity.
Artists will not only go on stage but also engage in talks and workshops with the festival attendees, allowing a very particular interaction with the audience. It will be a hands-on experience that will help festival-goers not just passively enjoy the performances but also get to know the process of art-making.
Creating a Space for Participation and Discovery
Found Festival is designed to spark creativity and build community through a wide array of activities. Expect workshops, dance classes, interactive art projects, outdoor learning sessions, and wellness activities. A full program will be announced in the New Year, but expect plenty of opportunities for visitors, whether they are festival first-timers or veterans, to learn new skills, discover new interests, and meet others who share similar passions.
An Intimate Setting with Family in Mind
Found Festival really does intend to offer an intimate and casual experience of a festival, and just for that reason, its attendance will be limited to 2,000 guests. This countryside setting will provide plenty of space-giving families a safe environment where kids can roam freely and guests can set up comfortable camping areas. All in all, it will be done so that programming will be staggered to ensure people don't have to miss some parts of what's happening-on a music act or a workshop, or community getting together.
Gastronomy: More than an On-stage show
But beyond the beats and brushstrokes, Found Festival will boast a selection of hand-curated street food purveyors and craft drinks to round out the unique, immersive gastronomic experience for festival attendees. This attention to quality and community speaks to the larger vision for Found Festival in crafting an event that extends well beyond the stages, sending its guests away refreshed, inspired, and quite literally "found."
