Set amongst the sycamore trees, a lake, deer and one of the world’s great sculpture parks, Houghton Festival is a hedonistic playground, celebrating live and electronic music across four days on the charming and beautiful grounds of Houghton Hall in North Norfol where the UK's first prime minister Sir Robert Walpole once lived there. Founded, directed and curated by artist, DJ and Central St Martins alumni DJ Craig Richards, who launched the event in 2017 when he was 50 and moving away from the hectic London music scene, the festival reflects his vision of how a festival should be, with attention to detail and high standards throughout.
More than 200 artists will perform across 14 stages from Thursday to Sunday (August 7-10), with music playing somewhere on the Houghton Estate site at all times as they have a unique 24-hour music license..
The festival has gained traction among loyal followers of Mr Richards and lovers of underground music.
Around 12,000 revellers from across the world are expected to attend - and two years ago Catherine, the Princess of Wales, was even said to have made a special appearance.
