Across three days on the first July weekend, Love Supreme presents a world-topping line-up across the jazz, R&B, funk, and soul spectrum, within the stunning Glynde Place of the legendary South Downs in East Sussex, the festival encompasses one of the UK's most stunning national parks.
Synonymously referred to as the jewel of the summer festival season by artists and music fans everywhere, Love Supreme welcomes global superstars, jazz greats, and leading new talent from around the world, performing in a unique setting.
Love Supreme is the UK's first jazz weekend camping festival but also hosts day and weekend campers. The festival is located near Brighton with good links around 20 minutes outside the city, and readily more than an hour's train or car ride from central London. Glynde village includes a station within a few minutes' walking distance of the site.
Since its opening festival in July 2013, Love Supreme has hosted a staggering array of musicians from the jazz, soul, and R&B communities, such as Lauryn Hill, Herbie Hancock, Earth Wind & Fire, George Benson, Nile Rodgers, Chick Corea, Van Morrison, Grace Jones, Gladys Knight, Jamie Cullum, Hugh Masekela, Michael Kiwanuka, Steve Winwood, George Clinton, Pharoah Sanders, Gregory Porter, Laura Mvula, Lianne La Havas, Louie Vega, Bryan Ferry, Stanley Clarke, Marcus Miller, Tom Misch, Esperanza Spalding, Melody Gardot, Brad Mehldau, Chaka Khan, Branford Marsalis, Robert Glasper, Snarky Puppy, and many, many more.
The festival is also renowned for exhibiting the support for potential artists. Nubya Garcia, Gogo Penguin, Rag'N'Bone Man, Mahalia, Ezra Collective, Jacob Collier, Celeste, Kamaal Williams, Shabaka Hutchings, Moses Boyd, Jordan Rakei, are some of those artists who had showcased themselves here early in their life and flourished thereafter.
The 2024 festival saw major surprises with a first-class bill including Terence Trent D'Arby (AKA Sananda Maitreya), who performed his first UK gig in 20 years and his sole UK gig of 2024. Other headliners included Chaka Khan, Olivia Dean, Dionne Warwick, Jordan Rakei, Mahalia, Black Pumas, Noname, Joss Stone, Kool & The Gang, Sérgio Mendes, Hiromi, Billy Cobham's Time Machine, Galliano, Christone 'Kingfish' Ingram, Meshell Ndegeocello, Cécile McLorin Salvant, Dhafer Youssef, Christian McBride, Alice Russell, The War and Treaty, Balimaya Project, Josh Milan, Johnathan Blake, Fergus McCreadie, Joel Culpepper, Jacqui Dankworth, Amie Blu, Andrew McCormack featuring Kyle Eastwood, and James Brandon.
