Headliners
Headliners: 50 Cent, Biffy Clyro, Snow Patrol
TRNSMT Festival returns to Glasgow Green for the 8th year from the 11th to 13th of July 2025. For the third year in a row, it will bring its signature energy and excitement to Scotland's music capital, with a bill of world-class acts and an unrivaled festival experience.
A Celebration of Music and Culture
TRNSMT is set against the iconic, vibrant backdrop of Glasgow Green, home to some of the most passionate music fans in the world. This non-camping festival, sponsored by Rockstar Energy, will take place over three days with four stages: the Main Stage, King Tut's Stage, River Stage, and Boogie Bar. With more than 50 food traders, 20 bars, funfair rides, and a gold-standard accessible setup, everyone's invited to the party.
Headliners to Remember
Friday: American rap legend 50 Cent will headline the opening day. Fresh off his first-ever Las Vegas residency earlier in 2025, the Grammy, BRIT, and three-time MOBO-winning artist will make history as the first rapper to headline TRNSMT since Stormzy’s iconic performance in 2019.
Saturday: Scottish rock icons Biffy Clyro headline a bill that brings their festival-ready anthems to life. Off the back of three sold-out shows at the Barrowland Ballroom earlier this year, the band will deliver a setlist bathed in nostalgia from their nine-album discography.
Snow Patrol will bring this year's festival to a close. Returning to Scotland as part of their "The Forest Is The Path" 2025 world tour, with their eternal hit "Chasing Cars" named the most-played song of the 21st century, Snow Patrol's set promises quite an unforgettable sing-along to bring TRNSMT 2025 to a close.

Scotland's Biggest Festival
First launched in 2017, TRNSMT has grown to become Scotland's largest music festival, consistently attracting top-tier acts such as Radiohead, Pulp, and Stormzy. Its debut event welcomed 120,000 attendees over three days and has only missed one year—2020—due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Many view TRNSMT as the spiritual successor to T in the Park, which ran from 1994 to 2016.
What Does TRNSMT Mean?
But while T in the Park was literally named after its sponsor Tennents, TRNSMT isn't such an obvious acronym. Theories are that it's a stylised abbreviation of "transmit," reflecting the way music connects and spreads. This has been translated into many, with one Redditor observing, "Transmit w/ vowels removed … being all cool n that." Another added, "Transmit: to send information or sound through radio, television, or other means." Unconfirmed but fitting for what the festival actually is: music and culture shared across.
Ready for 2025
The more the days are crawling towards TRNSMT 2025, the more excitement piles up. With such a great lineup, electric atmosphere, and unbeatable Scotland crowds, this festival is sure to be one of the summer music calendar highlights. Be it for the returning or the first time, TRNSMT ensures an experience that shall never be forgotten.
