Headliners
Headliners: 50 Cent, Biffy Clyro, Snow Patrol
TRNSMT Festival will return to Glasgow Green for its 8th year, running from 11th to 13th July 2025. Once again, the event promises to bring its signature energy and excitement to Scotland's music capital, featuring an impressive lineup and a festival experience like no other.
A Celebration of Music and Culture
Renowned for hosting some of the world’s most passionate music fans, TRNSMT is set against the vibrant backdrop of Glasgow Green. Sponsored by Rockstar Energy, this non-camping festival spans three days and boasts four stages: the Main Stage, King Tut's Stage, River Stage, and the Boogie Bar. Attendees can look forward to over 50 food traders, 20 bars, funfair rides, and a gold-standard accessible setup, ensuring everyone can join in the celebration.
Headliners to Remember
Friday: American rap legend 50 Cent will headline the opening day. Fresh off his first-ever Las Vegas residency earlier in 2025, the Grammy, BRIT, and three-time MOBO-winning artist will make history as the first rapper to headline TRNSMT since Stormzy’s iconic performance in 2019.
Saturday: Scottish rock icons Biffy Clyro take centre stage, bringing their festival-ready anthems to life. After three sold-out shows at the Barrowland Ballroom earlier this year, the band will deliver a nostalgic setlist featuring hits from their nine-album discography.
Sunday: Snow Patrol will close the festival, returning to Scotland as part of their "The Forest Is The Path" 2025 world tour. Known for their timeless hit "Chasing Cars," crowned the most-played song of the 21st century, Snow Patrol’s set promises to end TRNSMT 2025 with an unforgettable singalong.

Scotland’s Biggest Festival
First launched in 2017, TRNSMT has grown to become Scotland’s largest music festival, consistently attracting top-tier acts such as Radiohead, Pulp, and Stormzy. Its debut event welcomed 120,000 attendees over three days and has only missed one year—2020—due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Many view TRNSMT as the spiritual successor to T in the Park, which ran from 1994 to 2016.
What Does TRNSMT Mean?
Unlike T in the Park, named after its sponsor Tennents, the meaning behind the name TRNSMT remains ambiguous. Theories suggest that it’s a stylised abbreviation of “transmit,” reflecting how music connects and spreads. This interpretation has been widely discussed, with one Reddit user noting, “Transmit with the vowels removed … being all cool n that.” Another added, “Transmit: to send information or sound through radio, television, or other means.” While unconfirmed, this interpretation captures the festival’s essence of sharing music and culture.
Ready for 2025
As TRNSMT 2025 approaches, excitement continues to build. With a stellar lineup, electrifying atmosphere, and Scotland’s unbeatable crowds, the festival promises to be a highlight of the summer music calendar. Whether you’re a returning fan or a first-time attendee, TRNSMT guarantees an experience you’ll never forget.
