South Facing Festival welcomes the legendary Nile Rodgers & CHIC to headline Love Motion, the disco, soul and electronic all-day event on Sunday 24 August. The iconic group will take to the Crystal Palace park stage alongside a supportive line-up of incredible talent.
Also joining the line up for this bank holiday extravaganza, is leader of global dance music, Louie Vega, French music producer and DJ Dimitri from Paris, French disco drummer and producer Cerrone, the magnetic Brighton-based DJ Kirollus, the joyfully uplifting vocal group House Gospel Choir, and London-based house-disco party Don’t F**k with Disco.

Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee, Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee and multiple Grammy award winning Nile Rodgers is the co-founder of CHIC. With CHIC, Nile pioneered a musical language with hits like —Le Freak (Atlantic’s best-selling single) and sparked hip-hop with Good Times and Rapper’s Delight. His work in the CHIC Organization, including We Are Family (Sister Sledge), I’m Coming Out (Diana Ross) and on his own Let’s Dance (David Bowie and Like a Virgin (Madonna), has sold over 500+ million albums , while his Grammy Award- winning collaborations with Daft Punk (Random Access Memories) and Beyonce (Renaissance) reflect the vanguard of contemporary hits.
South Facing is a multi-day, open-air festival that takes place each summer in the historically significant Crystal Palace Bowl. The festival boasts a huge choice of top-end street food and drink options including street food, craft ale and rum shack, and is easily accessible from London and all over the South East thanks to the various train and bus routes, including Crystal Palace (TfL Overground and National Rail), Penge West (TfL Overground and National Rail), and Gipsy Hill (National Rail).
Previous years have included huge headline performances, with Grace Jones, Damian Marley, Supergrass, Sleaford Mods, The English National Opera, Richard Ashcroft, Becky Hill, Bombay Bicycle Club, Jungle, and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, all gracing the stage.
