The Rewind Festival is an annual music event hosted across several scenic locations, including Temple Island Meadows in Remenham, Berkshire, near Henley-on-Thames, Capesthorne Hall in Cheshire, and Scone Palace in Perthshire, Scotland. Since its launch in August 2009, the festival has become synonymous with 80s nostalgia, celebrating iconic bands and solo artists from the decade. Originally named “80s Rewind Festival,” it continues to attract devoted fans of the era, combining live music with a unique festival experience.
Rewind’s first edition in 2009 offered more than just musical performances, featuring a funfair, street entertainment, and comedians from The Comedy Store. The festival was conceived by The Rival Organisation and Into The Groove, building on the success of several one-off 80s-themed shows.
Over the years, the festival has grown, expanding its entertainment options. In addition to music, attendees enjoy a range of attractions, including camping and glamping facilities, firework displays, theme bars, silent and roller discos, live karaoke, the Big Sing choir event, and a Friday night welcome party.
By 2019, Rewind had become one of the most popular retro festivals in the UK. Its three editions—Scotland, South, and North—boasted impressive attendance figures, with capacities of 30,000 in Scotland, 40,000 in the South, and 20,000 in the North.
As Rewind looks towards 2025, some changes are on the horizon. Rewind Scotland will take a break next year, while Rewind North will not be held as Capesthorne Hall shifts its focus away from hosting camping festivals. Despite these changes, Rewind South will go ahead from 15th to 17th August, with early bird tickets available from 18th October and the full lineup announcement scheduled for January.
In addition to Rewind South, exciting new events will join the Rewind family in 2025. For the first time, Rewind at Dreamland in Margate and Rewind Cork will be introduced, further expanding the festival’s reach. Other key events in 2025 include:
Tickets for Rewibf South are now available, giving fans the opportunity to secure their spot early for an unforgettable summer of 80s nostalgia.
