Rewind Scotland Takes a Break in 2025 as New Locations Are Added
The Rewind Festival is an annual music festival touring over some of the most picturesque countries, including Temple Island Meadows, Remenham, Berkshire, close to Henley-on-Thames, Capesthorne Hall in Cheshire, and Scone Palace in Perthshire, Scotland. In fact, since it was first created in August of 2009, the festival has come to be closely associated with 80s nostalgia, celebrating iconic bands and solo artists from this decade. Originally called “80s Rewind Festival,” it remains a mecca for the decade’s most devoted fans, combining live music with an alternative festival experience.
A Festival Beyond Music
Rewind’s inaugural event in 2009 offered much more than mere musical performances: an amusement park was part of the proceedings along with street performers and comedians courtesy of The Comedy Store. The event was devised by The Rival Organisation along with Into The Groove, based on numerous one-off showcases focusing on 80s music.
Over the years, it has grown, adding to the range of entertainments. Besides music, it now boasts many attractions such as camping and glamping facilities, fireworks, theme bars, silent and roller discos, live karaoke, Big Sing choir event, and Friday night welcome party.
Rewind’s Growth and Impact
In 2019, Rewind has grown to become one of the most successful retro festivals in the UK. This event was offered in three sets: Scotland, the South, and the North; with capacity for 30,000 visitors in Scotland, 40,000 in the South, and 20,000 in the North.
Changes for 2025
Fast-forward to 2025, and there are a few changes afoot. Rewind Scotland is taking a year off next year, while Rewind North does not take place as Capesthorne Hall moves away from hosting camping festivals. Rewind South takes place between 15th and 17th August, with early bird tickets available from 18th October and the full lineup announcement in January.
New Additions to the Rewind Calendar
In addition to Rewind South, exciting new events will be joining the Rewind family in 2025. Rewind at Dreamland in Margate and Rewind Cork make their debut alongside the ever-growing ranks of this amazing festival. Key events coming in 2025 include:
