This summer, Soultown Festival is back on August 31st and September 1st, 2024, with its vibrant funk, soul, Motown, disco, and house music celebration taking over Croydon Road Recreation Ground in Beckenham, London. The highly-anticipated lineup of the festival has just been announced, featuring a weekend headlined by the most iconic sets and unmissable experiences.
This year’s festival gets underway on Saturday with a stellar lineup of artists: The Four Tops is headlining the day-the iconic American vocal group that defined the sound of the ’60s-joined by favorite R&B and soul acts Tavares, the smooth rhythm and blues of Atlantic Starr, and disco anthems from The Trammps. Completing a day that promises to be a musical journey through the golden eras of soul and disco are Odyssey, Gwen Dickey, and Julie McKnight.
Just about equal in its appeal is the line up on Sunday as Earth Wind & Fire Experience by Al McKay fronts the bill. Reggae sensation Maxi Priest brings his own brand on stage, with soul singer Kenny Thomas and powerhouse vocals of Jocelyn Brown rounding up the day’s feel. R ‘n’ B group Damage will also be joined alongside David Grant and Cool Notes for the weekend ender.
The music of Soul Town will be represented on two big stages, both with immersive lighting and visual effects promised to elevate the live performances. Complementing the music will be a vast array of food from over 40 street food vendors, cocktails from the beach-themed bar, or exploration of the premium gin garden.
Saturday at the festival is strictly for grownups, and the action will be relaxed but lively. On Sunday, the grounds are opened to families, with a host of child-friendly activities planned for the day including face painting and rides.
