DocksFest, North East Lincolnshire’s premier live music festival, is thrilled to announce The Charlatans as the main stage headliners for its 2025 event. The festival takes place on Saturday, 5th July, at the Meridian Showground in Cleethorpes.
Since their breakthrough in 1990, The Charlatans have become one of the UK’s most cherished and enduring bands. With a foundation in indie rock, their sound has evolved to embrace psychedelia, soul, funk, and even country rock influences.
The band boasts an impressive discography, including three UK #1 albums—Some Friendly, The Charlatans, and Tellin’ Stories—as well as seven more Top 10 records. Fans can expect to hear iconic hits such as The Only One I Know, One to Another, North Country Boy, and How High.
Despite facing immense challenges, including the tragic losses of keyboardist Rob Collins in 1996 and drummer Jon Brookes in 2013, the band has remained resilient. Today, Tim Burgess (vocals), Martin Blunt (bass), Mark Collins (guitar), and Tony Rogers (keys) continue to deliver electrifying live performances, whether at major festivals like Glastonbury and Reading or iconic venues like the O2 Academy Brixton.
The 2025 line-up already promises an exciting mix of talent. Indie rock favourites Ash and Maxïmo Park will join the bill, alongside rising stars Corella and Coach Party. Local talent will also shine, with EVER and Last of the Wonder Kids representing Cleethorpes on the DocksFest stage.
Make sure to mark your calendars for what’s set to be an unforgettable day of live music!
