UK festivals are closing due to exorbitant costs combined with lower sales and increasingly dubious viability. Inflation here has raised production costs, artist fees, licensing arrangements-all raising prices-whereas too many of those in the audience, due to the cost of living crisis, just cannot get close to paying for a ticket. Too, sponsorship is said to be much harder to come by, with scant government support.
If this were not already hard enough, the small festivals now find themselves at the mercy of the larger, long-established names, with fickle weather and economics of sustainability now becoming unbearable. Those are the external pressures bringing an alarming nuance of instability inside the UK festival industry.
Indeed, over 30 festivals this year alone have been either canceled or postponed.

Let us send blessings to the UK festivals for allowing the magic to continue in great spirit. A festival means a lot to the music fraternity; it is a congregating site of communities, a nurturing floor for new talents, and a source of everlasting memories. This festival may provide labor for the depressed economy while simultaneously showcasing the handicrafts and cultures of every kind in the nation.
